In our house, we drink tea... a lot of tea... and the guys will use regular tea mugs as long as they aren't covered with flowers. :) I did find a set of china, though, that they like much better! I found part of a set and a friend found more of the set. Now, for birthdays for the guys, they like it when we pull out the "Guy China".
For this birthday meal, we had cold kombucha, but we did serve it in the John Deere mugs.... after all, it matched the set. The guys liked that. :) By the way, the homemade subs recipe can be found here.
We do have pretty china in our home - actually more than one set, so it only seemed right to have some "Guy China" also. We keep a couple of these John Deere mugs in the cupboard for every day use, but the rest are kept separate and only used for birthdays or special occasions, mainly because we just don't have room for them in the cupboard. The guys enjoy drinking tea, hot cocoa or hot spiced cider in these mugs..... or even cold kombucha. :)

What a great idea to have "guy" china. I did go out and buy some plain white plates so my husband and son weren't always having to eat off vintage, floral plates!
ReplyDeleteAnd that giant sub looks delicious.
I don't know that I would have thought to do it except that I have one son who loves John Deere tractors, so the cups caught my eye. :) They have been enjoyed though.... and the sub was delicious..... and didn't last long! :) Thank you for visiting.
DeleteLove the "guy china"! What a wonderful way to share the love of tea. Have a great week. Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteThank you.... I hope your week goes well also.... and I am still praying for Kyle... I hope there is healing, little by little. :)
DeleteLove your guy stuff...my honey'd rather have something other than flowers as well. The sandwiches look perfect for the fellas! Thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!
ReplyDeleteRuth
My guys rebel on flowers on their pillowcases and tea mugs. :) Thankfully, God provides alternatives. :) The sandwiches didn't last long... they loved them. :)
DeleteI think having "guy" china sounds like a fabulous idea! My husband has a favorite coffee cup with a picture of an old 50s car on it. I guess that is his own "guy china" I'll share that with him over coffee tomorrow morning :) And that sub sandwich just looks fabulous too!
ReplyDeleteHis cup sounds great.... my husband also has a cup with an eagle and one with a hundred dollar bill on it. :) I guess I do keep an eye out at garage sales for cups that my guys would like. :) Thank you for stopping by.... it was nice to have you.
DeleteWhat a good idea to have guy china. I have some of the John Deere glasses.
ReplyDeleteThank you.... we don't have the glasses... I will have to watch for those. :) Thank you for visiting.
DeleteJohn Deere always goes over well with the guys, doesn't it? Your mugs are perfect for guy china! Your sandwiches look good too. Thanks for sharing and stopping by for tea.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Yes, it does... John Deere is just quite "guy - friendly". :) Thank you... the sandwiches were wonderful and the family is asking me to make them again soon. :) Thank you for visiting.
DeleteThe John Deere mugs are quite interesting! John Deere has a couple of large factories in my area (Iowa) and Big Green is really popular here. I usually drink my tea from a labrador retriever mug, or a Carnival Cruise mug....and I drink my coffee from a super sized Alaska cup!
ReplyDeleteYour cups sound great..... I watch for tea mugs and buy them at garage sales... my guys like to tease me that "No, Mom, we don't need any more cups!" :) It is fun to have a variety, though..... and they like it also, especially since I tend to get rid of the older ones when I get a newer one. :)
DeleteYour post got me to thinking that all of my mugs have birds or flowers on them - no guy mugs. Hubby hasn't complained yet and the son-in-laws better not. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat comment!!!! :) Thank you for visiting.
DeleteWe are a john deere family too! Hubby and boys prefer mugs. I like my teacups! Love your corner cabinet!
ReplyDeleteNancy
Thank you.... we sure like that cabinet also. :) Thank you for visiting.
DeleteGreat post! I love to drink tea too! :-)
ReplyDeleteI nominated you for an award over at my blog Lilies of Grace. Here's the link to the post: http://liliesofgrace.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-blogger-recognition-award.html

Thank you... how nice of you. :) I appreciate your visit.
DeleteOh my! I wish I had some of your homemade sub! Thanks for sharing this post at So Much at Home. I never thought about "guy" china unless you count the toddler plate I had for my son about 20 years ago. haha
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! My husband usually doesn't care what we eat off of, but I think he would like something like this. I will have to keep my eyes open when I'm out rummaging through thrift stores and yard sales. I love finding stuff like this for a bargain.
God bless.
I hope you do find some.... I love getting bargains too.... and am so thankful that God provides many for us. :) Thank you for visiting and commenting.
DeleteI like your "guy" china. I am sure my son and husband would love if I had some "guy" china.
ReplyDeleteMy guys sure do. :) Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteHow fun! *I* love the John Deere tea cups! Being a hobby farmer, I think they're cute! LOL
ReplyDeleteI think they're cute also....and my guys like them so it is a good thing we have quite a few of them. :) Thank you for visiting.
DeleteHi me again. Congratulations! This post was the #1 most read post on my last link up at somuchathome.blogspot.com, and it was featured on this week's new link up party! Please come back over and link up again!
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
How fun! My hubby would love the John Deere mugs! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are used often here. :)
DeleteWhat a fun find! Thanks for sharing @Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteThey have been a blessing. :) Thank you for the party.
DeleteYears ago someone bought that set of dishes for my four boys, and we've used them SO MUCH! Thanks for the great pictures.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! My guys like them a lot better than the floral china the girls prefer! :)
DeleteWhat perfect dishes for your guys! My late beloved husband drank tea everyday, but always used a mug...no pretty teacup for him!
ReplyDeleteThey do fit my guys much better than pretty tea cups! :) I'm sorry about the loss of your husband. Thank you for visiting.
