Priorities... With A Cup of Tea!

Sometimes as I have time with the Lord, I drink tea.... It seems to make it easier to slow down, ponder things, talk with Him and listen....

Beauty can also help that... although sometimes it can be distracting also.

I read my Bible first thing every morning... and right now, I usually stay in bed while I read.  It's warmer in there and yes, I stay awake, but I don't have any tea at that time.  :)
Then, throughout the day, I ponder those things I had read earlier.... I meditate on them..... Well, not always... sometimes I get too busy and just don't even think about it.  I don't want to do that, though.... God's Word is so important and I want to walk with Him through each day.

It is rare that I can sit down and just drink a cup of tea.... normally I sip it as I work on the computer... or cook... or do school... or have breakfast....or whatever. Sometimes I find myself just gulping the tea down to be done with it before it is cold.

Sometimes I sip a cup of tea as my kids and I sit... and talk... what precious times. It is easier to sit and concentrate on them when I am sipping tea... and the same thing can work in my time with the Lord.... but I do have to make the time....

I tend to talk with Him all throughout the day... and most times it is not a formal prayer at all, but more of a conversation.... and it is precious.

Still.... a cup of tea... and time with the Lord... can be a good thing.

It is so easy to just run through each day.... our lives are so busy.... I know mine is terribly busy every day and I'm sure yours is also. We don't have time for everything... and something has to "go".   I don't want to just fly through each day dealing with things and reacting... I want to make time for the really important things... and I know I am a better wife and mom when I do so.

I hope you are also making time with God a real priority.... reading His Word every day... but also praying, praising and listening.....  it will help us to be the women He planned for us to be. :)   Thank you for visiting... I hope you have a great week.

    1. Thank you.... I find it is important to be deliberate about these things... our lives can easily crowd out the best stuff. :) Thank you for stopping by. :)

  8. I love that statement, "It's more important to be occupied with Christ, than to be occupied for Christ." You're photos are beautiful, as always! Thanks for sharing and the "gentle" reminders. Blessings!

    1. I like that statement also..... it is so easy to be occupied FOR Him... rather than WITH Him... big difference. Thank you for the sweet comment. :)

  9. Your teacup is enchanting surrounded by flowers. I read my bible every night - a program of competing it in a year by reading the OT and NT together.

  10. I enjoy a warm cup of tea too, sometimes just what I need to help me "be still and know that He is God." I like your quote about being occupied with God rather than for God.

  13. I loved reading about your precious times with Jesus! Oh, how I love Him and want to keep Him front and center in every moment of my day. I honestly do not understand how people make it without Him in their lives. May He bless you richly for the precious encouragement you are to me and to so many others.

    1. What a precious sweet comment... thank you for your encouragement to me. I agree about people not having Christ in their life... I have often wondered at that... especially when I have seen other families dealing with medical problems with their child... and they still have no use for God. That is so sad to me. It seems every year I learn more and more... and I also learn how much more I need to learn and grow in Him. What a blessing He is.

    1. Me, too... I NEED this time each day... even if at the time I feel like it isn't so important. I can't imagine not starting the day that way. Thank you for visiting... I am encouraged by how many women do spend regular time with the Lord... It is a habit that can stay with us all of our lives.
