"Let's take a "walk"................

How nice it is to take a walk............
   to see the big picture.....and
also the little things along the way.....

This post is a combination of pictures ....
     little things and big things.........

Let's take a "walk"..........

Weathered wood used to be "ugly" to me, but
how glad I am to be able to see the beauty
of a weathered gate in the snow.........

  Dead plants just looked like...........
"Dead plants" to me when I was a child.

Now, I see the symmetry, the color contrast
and more and I delight in such as a stark kind of beauty........

The lacy look of dried yarrow against
   the snow holds an appeal.........

Not a lot of color contrast in this picture, but
   beauty anyway..........

Big power poles.....not my favorite thing to see in the country.........
but striking in their size and shape.....

An old rusty bell....wouldn't it be fun to ring it?  :)

The moon.....still visible in the daytime......

Fresh snow.....with the green color showing
the persistent life of a hardy herb.........

Footprints in the snow.............

A frozen stream through the woods with snow and ice.................a quiet and restful beauty.

After a nicer day today, the strong winds this evening are blowing in a cold front. I looked through these pictures and posted them while listening to beautiful and uplifting music. What a joy.
Thank you for "taking a walk with me". I enjoyed it and I hope you did also.

Beautiful Cardinals...........

The female cardinal lacks the brilliant coloring of the male, but there is a beauty there all the same, in the softer coloring.

I wanted to get a picture of the two of them together, but wasn't able to do so. They move so fast that it was a joy just to get these two pictures.

Many times, the cardinals like to eat the berries on our holly tree and I would love to get a picture of them in there, but so far it hasn't happened.

The coloring contrast of the green pines and the red cardinals would be wonderful, but again, they have eluded me and I haven't taken such pictures....some day I hope to though.

There are so many beautiful picture opportunities right around us........and I enjoy finding them. Thank you for checking out my post.

Deer and Birds.................

I enjoy observing nature and taking pictures of it. In this post, I have some pictures of animals and birds...

These deer pictures are from a state park in Missouri.............

It was nice to see the deer and we enjoyed watching it leave and walk deeper into the forest also. The day we were there was cold and windy and we had the whole park almost to ourselves - it was really empty.

The swans were at a different location and in a different season..........

We really enjoyed watching these beautiful swans.....and especially the little one.  :)
It looks so soft and sweet.........

The baby stayed pretty close to its mother...........

I couldn't get close enough to take pictures of the nest, but was glad to get this tall thin bird.  It stayed still for a long time, just in one place....and then it moved.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures.....I sure enjoy taking them and looking for new possibilities.......I will share more another time.

I am so thankful that God created the heavens and the earth and all of the life in it.........

Old Barns in the Country......................

Here are some more pictures from our day trip in the country. These are the old barns that we saw..................

There is something about old barns..........

Even in such a deteriorated state, there is something wonderful about old barns.....

Many many different styles of barns exist.....some empty and some still in use.

This barn probably won't be standing for too many more years...........

I like the open window on the left side of this barn.............

I remember seeing lots of barns that had advertisements painted on the sides, when I was a kid, but I didn't see any of those on this day trip.

Such a variety of barns.......
Old barns are a wonderful part of the country scenery and I really enjoy looking at them.  I hope that you did also. Thank you for looking at these.........

A Day trip In The Country...................

I love these old windmills - they just look like the country.  My aunt and uncle had one on their farm when I was a child and it always fascinated me. Even the squeak that accompanied the turning of the blades amazed me.....and made me glad that I didn't have to listen to it all of the time. :)

So many pretty scenes along the country roads..... After a day trip in the country, I have more country pictures to share..........

Old barns are so interesting.......I will have to do a post on old barns ........

These ducks were loud and had congregated near a river - they didn't seem to belong to anyone as there were no farms or homes near. They quacked much and loudly...and my daughter thought it sounded like they were laughing. :)

Another old windmill off in a field........

It was a wet and rather gloomy-looking day, but there was still so much beauty to see and absorb.....

Old barns are so interesting.......

Thank you for joining me in this brief trip in the country........I always enjoy seeing the beauty of the fields and farms and will share more in days to come.................
