A Little Trial...w/ A Spider...

This is a short post today.....  I keep a stack of 3"x 5" cards at my desk-they are handy to write quotes and verses on and then I post them on the wall above my desk... or in the kitchen, bathroom, stairways, etc. Periodically, I take them down and put others up.

I was sitting at my desk and was startled to see a spider quickly scurry up the wall in front of me... and without any pause, he went right over the top of one of the cards and then under it. I do NOT like spiders.  I grabbed a tissue to get him as I didn't want to know he was there and then lose him. He was very fast and I was concerned about getting him when he came out from under the card.... then I had another thought... I used the tissue to press the card to the wall  in order to kill the spider behind it. Yuck, but it needed to be done.  I was glad to have temporarily taken care of the problem... although I did push the card, WITH the tissue another time, just to be sure. Whew.  I decided to leave the card alone until my family got home and one of the guys could deal with it. :)

Now that the "emergency" was dealt with, I noticed what card the spider had gone under and realized how funny it was..... No, it wasn't a big trial, but it WAS a little one. There are times when I am sure God has a sense of humor in a situation like this.  :)

My family came home, the card was dealt with... I wanted it thrown away-I can write another card and I didn't want that one anymore and it was curling on the edges anyway.  My husband has decided to keep that one... he isn't bothered by what was pressed on the back of the card like I was(he cleaned it) and he plans to put it above his desk at work.

We will have trials... little ones or big ones... and they have a purpose. Sometimes we need that reminder.  I hope you have a great week.  :)

  1. Yes, we surely will have trials. The Bible tells us we are appointed unto them...and to "think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try us, as though some strange thing happened unto us"...this is not easy to do when you are in the midst of the heat! They DO seem strange to us, and sometimes we wonder how much more we can take before we completely break, God help us. I am praying for you and hope you are doing well. :)

    1. So true.... but God is faithful.... what a blessing... Thank you for praying... and I am praying for you also... it does really help to hold one another up as we each walk through our respective trials.

  2. I couldn't help but laugh :-) Your little trial and no trail at all for your husband. Just wipes away and on with the day! I have trapped a cricket long ago under a plastic cup and waited the entire day for my husband to come home and get rid of the creepy hopping creature. Thank you for a great chuckle! 1. Oh,.... I can understand the cricket issue.... also I probably would have taped the cup to the floor to be sure he wouldn't knock the cup over. :) Silly, huh? I am so glad for my guys who rescue the girls and I from such menaces.... although I have had to become much braver over the years and deal with things on my own too. I am glad you saw the humor in this... it is good to laugh at ourselves... even in that shuddery kind of way. :) Thank you for visiting.

  4. Oh my, I had to giggle :) I am the same way with spiders..... they aren't exactly my favorite thing God created.

I greatly appreciated the words you shared for they were much-needed in my life right now. Thank you, sweet friend, for sharing with Roses of Inspiration. May you have a blessed day!

    1. They are not my favorite things He created either and I tell myself He had a reason. :) I am remembering you... and praying for you...

  5. I totally get it. When we had pigs we had a problem with wolf spiders (google if you dare). Man, they were fast! AND they are so big they actually catch your attention with your peripheral vision. That's right, the darn things can be seen from the corner of your eye! Ugh! More than once Colin came home to find a spider under a glass with the peanut butter jar sitting on top. No way I was letting that spider escape.
